My guitar.

Music is the bridge between heaven and earth.
Music is the thing that keeps me moving, keeps me singing and dancing and enjoying moments that don’t really seem significant.

My beautiful boy.
15/11/09
This is Archie.
So far he’s the only male that has been consistently affectionate towards me for over a year.. ![]()
He’s the most beautiful animal I’ve ever seen. He never complains, is always happy to see anyone, whether he’s met them before or not. Always wants company, to play games, just enjoy the moment.
He’s taught me a lot over the year, and I’m sure he’ll keep doing that over the next 10 or so that he will be around for.
I don’t know how I ever lived without him.
I love this animal more than anything. <3
This is our Pantry.
14/11/09
This pantry rarely looks empty.
We are so lucky to live in a country where we can not only eat as much as we like, but also have choice.
I feel so sad when I think of all the children out in other countries who barely get a scrap of food to eat over a day.
I hope one day everyone can have a pantry (or equivalent) as full as this one.
Full bellies make big smiles.
My Study.
13/11/09
My parents very kindly let me have a study as well as my bedroom in our house – and they let me paint one wall yellow!
Oh how I love yellow. And Audrey Hepburn!
I’m sure there will be many more hours of study here, and it will be pleasant working in such a lovely space.
I’m rather lucky for this, I know.
Meet me at Mikes.
12/11/09
This, lovelies, is my happy place. A place where craft types can speak out without question, where crafts are nurtured and wonderful pearls of wisdom are passed on from crafty types to other crafty types.
Where is this wonderful place, you ask? Brunswick st.
Meet me at Mikes is run by golden girl of craft, Miss Pip Lincolne, and her trusty sidekick, Cameron!
I first ventured into this lovely store in my first weeks of second year uni, complaining about my ex boyfriend whom had dumped me 2 weeks before valentines. “who needs him!” Cries Pip, yet to introduce herself, but already I knew this would be the start of a new friendship, and a new artistic journey for me.
To Pip and Cam: I love you both, you have shown me to stand up for my own art and to make sure I am happy with myself, as well as what I produce. You’ve seen me through good and bad, putting up with me chatting for ours in countless visits over the last couple of years. Your store has been a therapy for me, I’ve always felt happy just knowing I’m about to walk around to you both and drop in for a mere moment. I’m not sure I would have made it through my course in one piece if your shop wasn’t within walking distance of uni..
So I thank you both. You’re real gems! And while I might not be around much now I’m no longer at ACU, I promise to come over soon and catch up.
I wish you both the very best. <3
This is my cute little neice, Clancy.
Guess whose overalls she’s wearing?
MINE!
Yep, my sister has been saving my kiddie size clothing for 20 years just so her kids can wear them.
So today, I am grateful for sentimentality. There’s something wonderful about looking at this bright young thing and thinking that was me in those pants only 20 years before.
Although it does make me feel a little old..
This is Alison.
She’s quite lovely, you know.
My friendship with Alison has shown me a new kind of strength, and taught me the importance of patience.
Without her, I would have no one to depend on to discuss books, boys and bitches all at once. I love her enthusiasm for all random things, her passion for dead languages, lost civilizations, and pretty much anything that’s not in the realms of normal. Alison is the mature half of our friendship, always suggesting logic and the sensible while still maintaining a silly side.
She’s pretty awesome, if you ask me.
She’s the friend I’ve always wanted. The kind that doesn’t need to speak in order to communicate, doesn’t mind only dropping over for a cup of tea and then being kicked out, is reliable, remembers your birthday as well as your mothers – the kind that is there to just enjoy your company?
There’s not many of these people left, kids.
Charlie, my dear, you get a gold star of lovelyness.
To whom it may concern,
Every day, there are millions of images being released of celebrities, war, destruction, pain, and sorrow.
These images are necessary in order to communicate problematic issues with those around us. However, I feel as though there aren’t enough positive images – photographs that help us realise how lucky, blessed and wonderful this life we live is.
This is why I have decided to take on Polalove.
Every day I’m posting a photograph of something I am truly grateful for.
Something that makes me happy and allows me to reflect and remember how lucky I am to live where I do, and to be surrounded my great people.
So! Feel free to contribute! Spread the love! Let’s make the world stop, smell the roses, and comment on how pretty they are too. ![]()
Peace! <3
